Apostolova and Veseli urge MPs to ratify border agreement (media)
Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, met today Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, and the two made a call to MPs to support the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro tomorrow. Apostolova said two important steps were undertaken recently with regards to the border demarcation process: the joint statement of Kosovo and Montenegro presidents and the agreement between most parties to support the demarcation. “I want to say that we are close to resolving this issue and I therefore believe that ratification of the demarcation at the Assembly should be done tomorrow. Kosovo still needs to continue fight against corruption, efforts are required, but ratification gets us closer to visa liberalisation,” Apostolova said.
Veseli said Kosovo is fully committed to EU integration and will not lose the opportunity for achieving visa liberalisation. “Kosovo and its citizens expect good news and we will bring this good news tomorrow, I hope by working together,” Veseli said after the meeting.
