The republic of demons (Koha Ditore)
Enver Robelli argues today that in Kosovo, alongside a mainly uncivilized political class, there is a caste of rich journalists who continuously violate professional and ethical principles. The truth is that the number of the journalists who have become killers of their profession is not small, he notes. As a consequence, the reporting on events and phenomenon, anomalies, political and social deformations is not made with the intention of unbiased informing of the public but in service of the show, noise, scandal, political traps, intrigue, money under the counter and other favors. Robelli further mentions the harsh language and insults used recently by Kosovo politicians adding that this narrowness of mind, this vulgar language, worthy of Mafiosi movies, paralyzes Kosovo. He criticizes Kosovo’s government saying that its trade mark is impetuous enrichment at the expense of the state, arrogance, cynical games and almost Byzantine political intrigues. “Unfortunately, in many cases part of these villainies were journalists bribed by political parties or their secret services. An individual or a single media is incapable to fight this political, ethical and moral havoc. A single individual or media can only scream in the desert. At times like this, when freedom is transformed into suppression and mental numbness into a lifestyle, a scream is not a little and it is requested from every citizen as an act of resistance against the enemies of freedom, who make the situation even more absurd, by claiming to have liberated us or that they intend to liberate us,” Robelli concludes.
