EULEX: We don’t have secret lists (KIM radio)

Chief EULEX Prosecutor Jaroslava Novotna stated that there are no secret lists for arrests, however there are investigations involving members of all nationalities.

Novotna said that speculations on existence of secret lists for arrests or secret indictments are completely groundless and that EULEX mission categorically states that there are no such lists.

“The law doesn’t provide existence of secret or sealed indictments. Of course, there are ongoing investigations involving members of all nationalities. In some instances those investigations have led to arrests and indictments,” said Novotna.

Novotna explained that after the indictment is raised the accused person and lawyers are informed about it.“When someone is indicted, informed about the charges, that’s one of the cornerstones of a transparent judicial system, which is the foundation stone of the rule of justice,” said Novotna.
