Voting even with invalid UNMIK identity card (KiM radio)
A member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Nenad Rikalo said that it was decided that for voting in early parliamentary elections on Sunday can be used all valid documents.
In a statement for Tanjug, Rikalo said that voters can use even Serbian identity documents, if they are enrolled in the electoral roll. "All valid documents can be used including ID card, passport, IDP or refugee identity card, even UNMIK ID cards that are not valid, but on Election Day will be accepted," he said.
Rikalo added that voters can also vote conditionally, if they are not in municipal electoral roll, if that their name is on united electoral roll. These votes will be subsequently checked, in order to avoid irregularity of the voting, explained Rikalo.
At midnight, in Kosovo starts pre-election silence that would last until closing of the polls, on Sunday evening. The right to vote on Sunday will have 1,782,454 voters, including nearly 34,000 people, who will exercise their voting right for the first time.
The Central Election Commission has accredited more than 400 observers, which will monitor the election process.
