Vucic, Patriarch Irinej on KiM and revival of Serbia (Tanjug)
BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met on Tuesday with Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) and informed him about his recent visit to Kosovo-Metohija.
Vucic said that the position of Serbia is not easy and that it should act wisely, responsibly and united.
This is the approach we need to take in solving all of our country's problems, the prime minister said, adding that the dialogue with the Serbian Orthodox Church is an important part of this approach.
Vucic thanked Patriarch Irinej on his continuous work for the unity of the Serb people, and asked for his understanding regarding the difficulties which the country is facing, the government's media cooperation office said in a release. Patriarch Irinej commended the efforts of the Serbian government to help the revival of the country, and expressed his belief that the church and state officials should meet more often, the release states.
The meeting held at the SPC Patriarchate was attended by Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic, Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and Bishop of Toplica Arsenije.
