Sustainable return of displaced to be discussed in Brussels (Blic)
Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija has forwarded a letter to the Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, requesting that one of the topics that should be discussed in Brussels is ‘sustainable return of displaced and repossession of usurped Serbian property’.
In the letter representatives of the organization also requested termination of the Brussels Agreement and reminded that one of the main tasks set by the UNSC Resolution 1244 is safe and free return of 250.000 displaced Serbs and other non-Albanians. Letter further reads that announced talks about the ownership over Trepca mining complex present nothing but the ‘negotiations over property succession between two sovereign states, and abandoning of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244’.
Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija is mainly composed by members of the four dissolved local municipal assemblies in northern Kosovo, which used to function in the Serbian administrative system. Belgrade doesn’t recognize this organization.
