Vucic: We welcome EU response to Rama's statement (Tanjug)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic qualified as positive on Wednesday the fact that the EU reacted to the statement by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama concerning the possibility of unification of Kosovo and Albania.

It is high time redrawing of borders in the Balkans stopped, Prime Minister Vucic said.

Addressing reporters in Krupanj where he attended the opening of a textile plant, the prime minister said that Serbia will continue pursuing a peaceful policy but he noted that the country cannot keep quiet about statements that send such messages.

He qualified as positive the fact that the EU responded although it did so shyly.

We will continue working toward good relations with Albania and we will insist on it, but we will make it clear to them at all times what can and what cannot be tolerated in the Balkans, Vucic underscored.

The statements of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Kosovo Foreign Minister Hasim Taci on unification are unacceptable provocations and are not in line with the policy of cooperation in the region, Spokesperson of the European Commission Maja Kocijancic stated.
