"Serbia has two capitals - Belgrade and Kosovo" (B92/Tanjug)
GRACANICA -- Marko Djuric was in Gracanica on Monday where he said that Serbia has "two capitals" - one in Belgrade, the other being "the Serb Kosovo and Metohija."
"The other capital is Kosovo and Metohija, the Patriarchate of Pec, Gracanica, the Raska-Prizren Eparchy... whose holy places along with the people are seeded across Kosovo," Djuric told reporters after attending liturgy and after "the Holy Fire" from Jerusalem was brought to the monastery on Orthodox Easter Monday.
Djuric pointed out that the holiday of the resurrection of Christ was "a chance to remind ourselves of its symbolism and meaning, especially in these difficult times."
Liturgy in Gracanica was served by Raska-Prizren Bishop Teodosije, who said that Easter each year "brings joy to people in Kosovo and Metohija."
"We who have been crucified with Christ, we also resurrect with Christ, especially in Kosovo and Metohija," the Serbian Orthodox Church dignitary said.
