Returnees robbed again in Klina (RTK2)

Returnees have been robbed again in Klina/Klinë last night.. Minister for Communities and Return in the Kosovo government, Dalibor Jevtic, condemned the incident and requested immediate reaction of the police.

A tenant who lives in the house of a Serb returnee Silvija Raskovic said to RTK2 that thieves have stolen mechanization for tractor and various tools.

Jevtic stated that thieves in this municipality must be stopped immediately, because it is about intimidation of returnees and those who wish to return. “We request immediate reaction of the police and arrest of those who robbed Silvija and caused serious material damage,” said Jevtic and added that it should be showed to all that law is above everyone.

Jevtic further said that institutions are investing in the return of Serbs to Klina/Klinë, however there are individuals who would like to prevent it. He added that it will not be allowed  that individuals prevent creation of the safe surrounding for returnees in Klina/Klinë.

Besides Jevtic, the incident was strongly condemned by Serb representatives in the Kosovo government, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic and Minister for Local Government Administration Maric, however apart of Serb representatives other Kosovo officials did not react so far on similar incidents.

This is another incident in a row in Klina/Klinë Municipality affecting returnees. Last Wednesday a complete poultry was stolen from a 74-year Serb woman.

Kosovo Police spokesperson for Klina/Klinë region stated that investigation of the case is ongoing.
