Stojanović: Call on exodus (RTK2)

Coordinator of the Serbian List, Branimir Stojanović, today voiced disbelief with regard to a statement of the President of the Serbian Academy of Science and Art (SANU) Dr Vladimir Kostić that “we should leave Kosovo with elements of dignity”.

“I am shocked that a person at the helm of the most important national cultural and scientific institution can afford himself to pledge in public for Serbia giving up on Kosovo and Metohija, which is more than territory for our people,” said Stojanović in a written statement to Tanjug, and added that this is an “unambiguous call on exodus of Serbs who remained in Kosovo”.

He further said that this statement is even more detrimental if taken into account that it comes in a mid of a struggle for creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities, which is a precondition of survival of Serbs in Kosovo, and the struggle against Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO. “Mr Kostić may think different, however as long as he is the President of SANU he has no right to propose solutions that would have as a consequence new exodus and misery for Serbian people,” said Stojanović.
