Vucic thanks Russia on voting in UNESCO (Tanjug, Politika)
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic yesterday received Russian Ambassador Aleksandar Chepurin and thanked him on wholehearted support of Russia during voting on Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO at the General Conference, which decided not to admit Kosovo to this organization.
Chepurin yesterday addressed citizens who gathered in front of the Russian Embassy in Belgrade to express gratitude to Russia for the voting and support in UNESCO, with regard to Kosovo’s request to be admitted to that organization, and said that this was a big diplomatic victory of Serbian nation, its diplomacy and Serbian church, and stressed that this is also important for future dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels because Serbia could feel that it has significant international support. He also repeated that the issue of Kosovo could only be resolved on the basis of the UNSC Resolution 1244.
