Stojanović: Attacks on returnees are discouraging (RTK2)
Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister Branimir Stojanović strongly condemned the latest incident, in a range of attacks on returnees, in village Osojane in Istok/Istog Municipality.
“Desecration, thefts, burglaries, torching in Serbian settlements don’t stop, what is clear indicator that Serbs are not welcome by some, who want to intimidate and expel them form here. Situation is particularly problematic in returnee settlements. Those who are committing the incidents are aware that incidents in returnee villages have double effects, since they discourage those who wish to continue to live there. Such incidents negatively influence those who wish to return to live on their properties, and those who are planning to do so, whereas police is doing nothing,” assessed Stojanovic. He added that work of the police when it comes to attacks on property belonging to Serbs has gone so far as to taking statements and carrying out investigation of the incident sites.
