The incidents in northern Kosovo disturb the citizens (RTK2)
The incidents in northern Kosovo gain momentum, in the night between Friday and Saturday in a shootout in a coffee shop in Zvečan/Zveqan, severely were injured two brothers, while on Saturday evening, near a police station and the court in North Mitrovica, an explosive device was thrown at a police patrol. In the incident one police officer was injured, who was released from hospital after initial medical treatment.
These incidents have disturbed the citizens who are not satisfied with the security situation and who expect greater involvement of all relevant institutions.
These two incidents should not be politicized, similar incidents have occurred in the past, and that responsibility for these and similar cases should be sought in parents, municipal authorities and the police, said the president of the Serbian National Council of Kosovska Mitrovica, Nebojša Jović.
- The first are the parents, second the municipalities and the third police. What is the problem now; we do not want to oppose the people in the municipality, we do not want to go out public since those are quite unpleasant groups, maybe those are sons of some individuals. I do not care who is who, we will deal with each individual, because we do not do this on a whim, we do this for the children who are delinquents today and may become killers tomorrow. The third factor is the police which is very indifferent - said Jović.
On the streets of Mitrovica cannot be noticed an increased presence of police patrols, but the said incidents are the main topic in the city. Earlier this month, a student and a taxi driver were beaten up.
