Stojanović: Personal interests stronger than institutions (KIM Radio)
The Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanović, stated that Kosovo institutions have capitulated in front of violence because they didn’t prevent protests of Kosovo Albanians in the village Mušutište, near the town Suva Reka, despite the presence of special police forces.
Stojanović told Beta agency that personal interests of those who are illegally cultivating and using properties owned by displaced Kosovo Serbs were stronger than all institutions, law and order, as well as the interest of those who wish to gain cheap political points by misusing this topic in political purposes.
He believes that displaced Kosovo Serbs will remain persistent in their efforts to return to their destroyed properties, and all 11 churches they used to attend for services before 1999.
Kosovo Albanians have protested on Sunday in the village Mušutište, expressing their opposition to the return of displaced Serbs to this village. They clashed with police in several occasions, whereas dozens of protesters were detained and several police officers injured.
