Popovic: To declare Rama “persona non grata” in Serbia (RTS)
Statement of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama that Albania and Kosovo would have a common foreign policy and a president is directed against the peace in the region and represents a hostile act against Serbia and its people, Minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government Nenad Popovic told RTS.
Popovic further said because of this statement Edi Rama should be declared “persona non grata” in Serbia and the country should send a harsh demarche to the Albanian ambassador in Belgrade.
He further assessed that this statement indicates a real cause of Kosovo secession and all those who have supported such disgraceful act, “to redraw the borders in the region to the benefit of Albanians and cause new tensions and clashes in the Balkans,” RTS reported.
Popovic underlined Serbia is open for dialogue with Albanians in order to find sustainable solution in line with the Constitution of Serbian and the UN SC Resolution 1244, media further reported.
He added Belgrade is ready for concessions and compromise, but is not ready that false state Kosovo enters international organizations, in particular the UN, RTS reported.
He also called upon the representatives of the international community, in particular those supporting Kosovo independence to condemn Edi Rama statement and clearly state such statements are impermissible and unacceptable, RTS reported.
