KFOR Commander: All are involved in solving Ivanovic case (Tanjug, RTS)
KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore Couci said that the murder of Oliver Ivanovic is under investigation, there is a full cooperation with EULEX and all are involved in resolving the case, Serbian media reported.
General Couci in an interview to RTK assessed the situation in Kosovo as calm and stable and that they work a lot with the Kosovo police responsible to keep the situation under control.
“Of course, there are some challenges in conducting the investigation, but Kosovo Police is fully professional, and very eager to resolve this case and any other issue that could influence security in the north of Kosovo,” he said.
General Couci added that the situation in the north “is calm and stable for the time being,” but there is a concern something could happen and that KFOR works on security in that area.
“We will cooperate and we all will work together to secure that nothing happens. We are well trained and ready to do so,” he said, Serbian media reported.
General Couci said there are no evidences that Serbian security forces could enter the north of Kosovo and this is not the case.
“We have close cooperation with the Serbian side, we do not have evidence that Serbia is ready to enter Kosovo, there is no need for that, we are here to provide security for all citizens in Kosovo, in particular northern Kosovo and Serb minority, therefore there is no problem,” Serbian media reported.
He also said KFOR increased its presence in the north in order to show they are willing to keep the situation under control, Serbian media reported.
