Electricity to House of Culture in Gracanica shut down (KIM Radio)
Electricity to House of Culture in Gracanica was shut down today, despite electricity bills being paid, KIM Radio reported.
As the House of Culture in Gracanica announced this is the third time that the electricity is shut down in the last half a year, which prevents normal functioning of this cultural institution.
“Today officials of the Kosovo Energy Distribution Services arrogantly and without any explanation, supported by the Kosovo police shut down electricity to the House of Culture, despite electricity invoice being paid on 19th March 2018. All our assurances and kind requests not to do it as well as evidence that the invoice was paid were not taken into consideration, same as they did last time,” House of Culture press statement reads.
It further said this is about “a deliberate and harsh pressure and discrimination on the side of KEDS official, as they are continuously for longer period exercising pressure upon the House of Culture.”
House of Culture warned responsible institutions “to restore a minimum order in the work of the KEDS in Gracanica” and prevent any form of discrimination. If this issue is not urgently resolved, the House of Culture would be forced to resort to public protest and block the traffic in Gracanica, KIM Radio reported.
