Rakic: No preconditions for opening the bridge (RTS, Tanjug)
The insistence of Maja Kocijancic on the opening of the bridge in Mitrovica "without delay", as she said, was not based either on what was agreed in Brussels nor on the valid assessment of the situation on the ground, assessed the president of the Serb List Goran Rakic, reports Serbian national broadcaster RTS.
Goran Rakic notes in the statement that "first of all, our side is working on the implementation of the agreed, but that full implementation of the bridge agreement cannot be without the implementation of part of the agreement on demarcation in the settlement of Suvi Do," reports RTS.
He reminded Kocijancic that the last time it was spoken about the bridge in Brussels, the EU representative, as an intermediary in the dialogue, explicitly had said that the bridge issue and the issue of the demarcation of northern and southern Mitrovica would be resolved together.
According to Rakic, the mediator agreed and the bridge to open when the two sides agree, and not when someone asks for it on the side, reports RTS.
In the end, Rakic noted, the security aspect is also very important, and because of which the issue of the bridge in Mitrovica has become a topic in the Brussels dialogue.
He said that the key say in the assessment of the security related to the bridge has the mayor of northern Mitrovica.
"At this moment, I do not see that neither the security nor any other assumption have been made to open the bridge," the President of the Serbian List said in a statement.
