Slain Kosovo Serb’s party urges investigation (BETA, TV N1)
The party of the assassinated Kosovo Serb leader Oliver Ivanovic, the Civic Initiative SDP, urged today all investigative services and especially the EULEX, to intensify the probe into the January 16 murder.
In a statement, they appealed to both Belgrade and Pristina institutions “to use their authority and not allow that the perpetrators remain anonymous and unpunished.”
“As time passes by, it seems that those who ordered and executed this heinous murder of our leader Ivanovic will never be found. We have been warning that will be the case since the day of the assassination, but now we are almost certain that nothing is being done to find those responsible,” the party’s statement said.
It added that the party and Kosovo Serbs were confused with the statements from both Belgrade and Pristina in which the respective authorities blamed each other for hiding information that could make a break in the investigation.
“We have to ask ourselves whether Belgrade and Pristina know something which they intently hide from both us and the investigation? Or they are just statements for daily political use, while Ivanovic’s murder is of no one’s serious concern,” the statement added, Serbian media reported.
