Security situation in Kosovo complex (TV N1, BETA)

Serbian Army Chief-of-Staff, Major General Ljubisa Dikovic and KFOR Commander, Major General Salvatore Cuici during the meeting on Thursday, assessed the security situation in Kosovo as complex, BETA news agency reported.

General Dikovic said the Army of Serbia recognized the international forces in Kosovo as an essential factor for stability, the guarantor of the Serb people safety and the protector of their national, cultural and historical heritage.

Dikovic and Cuoci meeting is a regular exchange of opinions about the security situation in Kosovo and along the administrative line, statement from the Serbian Defense Ministry has said.

The meetings between Serbian top army officers and KFOR commanders have been held regularly since 1999.

Thursday’s encounter comes amid political tensions between Belgrade and Pristina ahead of the meeting of Serbian and Kosovo presidents next month in Brussels, Serbian media reported.
