Serb representatives from Montenegro visited Kosovo (RTS, Tanjug, KIM Radio)
Political representatives of Serbs in Montenegro visited Orahovac, Velika Hoca, Monastery of Zociste and Mitrovica North, KIM Radio reported.
Political representatives of Serbs in Montenegro said that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are ready to remain and survive in Kosovo, to preserve spirituality, statehood and set foundation for their future here.
Following the meeting with Srpska Lista representatives, they announced a petition to collect signatures on revoking decision of the Montenegrin Government on Kosovo recognition, given that the vast majority of the Montenegrin population was against such decision in 2008.
Leader of Democratic-Peoples Party (DNP) of Montenegro and a member of the Democratic Front Presidency, Milan Knezevic said their aim is to gather more than 50.000 signatures and present it to the Montenegrin Assembly, expecting it would take this decision into consideration.
Chair of Srpska Lista Goran Rakic said that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija received strong support and encouragement.
“We had a chance and honour to welcome our brothers in Mitrovica North who are also political representatives of Serbs living in Montenegro. We are in particular pleased to get a strong support and encouragement from them in these difficult and historic moments,” Rakic said following the meeting.
