Jevtic: We do not give up on the return of Serbs to Kosovo (RTS)
A joint session of the Government and representatives of Serbs is being held today in Belgrade, where a comprehensive package of assistance and support to municipalities with a Serb majority in Kosovo will be approved, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will meet with representatives of Serbs from Kosovo in the Palace "Serbia".
In addition to the adoption of the investment plan, measures of incentives will be harmonized for those would invest in the territory of Kosovo.
President Vucic announced that € 10 million will be invested in the Clinical and Hospital Center in Mitrovica during his visit to Kosovo, recalls RTS.
Official of the Serbian List Dalibor Jevtic told RTS that he expects that this and other projects will start to be implemented next year. He says this is a message to the Serbs in Kosovo that they have not been forgotten.
Another project that will be discussed is the Sunny Valley, where apartments are built for 1,500 returnees.
"In a situation where in parts of KiM there is no possibility for the Serbs to return, the Sunny Valley provides the possibility for them to be in Kosovo where is safe. The project is significant because of the number of returnees, and the message is that we do not give up on the return", said Jevtic.
And one of the conditions for return are jobs. However, every third working-age person in Kosovo do not have a job.
"The Chinese investor is interested in opening a battery factory in the north of KiM, and there are other projects that will provide the opportunity to create new jobs. That is certainly a way to fight for the survival, but also the return of Serbs to KiM," Jevtic said.
President of the Kosovo Assembly Kadri Veseli said yesterday that the ultimate goal of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is that Belgrade recognizes Kosovo's independence. Jevtic points out that compromise will not be possible without the consent of Serbia.
