Survey: Germans and French want neither Serbia nor Kosovo in EU (Tanjug, B92, Blic)

International research and data analysis company “YouGov” published a survey on EU countries’ affiliation towards the accession of Serbia and Kosovo to EU, Tanjug news agency reported.

The survey was conducted from 17 to 27 December last year, and included 8.535 respondents from seven countries Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, the latter not being the member of the EU.

The results of the survey indicated that Swedish and Norwegians would like to see Serbia as an EU member, while Kosovo received no majority support in any of the surveyed countries to become an EU member.

The survey notes that among respondents, 33 percent in Britain, 43 percent in Germany, 52 percent in France, 41 percent in Denmark, 28 percent in Sweden, 40 percent in Finland and 28 percent in Norway are against Serbia joining the EU.

On the other side, 24 percent in Britain, 31 percent in Germany, 20 percent in France, 31 percent in Denmark, 41 percent in Sweden, 26 percent in Finland and 36 percent in Norway support Serbia’s accession to the EU.

When it comes to Kosovo, 32 percent in Britain, 52 percent in Germany, 56 percent in France, 44 percent in Denmark, 34 percent in Sweden, 41 percent in Finland and 31 percent in Norway are against Kosovo becoming an EU member, while 22 percent in Britain, 24 percent in Germany, 13 percent in France, 27 percent in Denmark, 35 percent in Sweden, 25 percent in Finland and 32 percent in Norway support that Kosovo becomes an EU member.
