Security Services Oversight Committee: Tensions in Kosovo high, security situation in Serbia stable (RTS)
Serbian Assembly Committee for Security Services Oversight assessed today that the security situation in Serbia is stable despite of permanent exposure to the various security challenges, risks and threats of different intensity.
The Committee also noted the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is marked by a high level of tensions caused by the Pristina authorities’ acts. It was said that introduction of illegal tariffs on the goods from central Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, lack of implementation of the Brussels agreement obligations related to the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities and frequent display of secessionist intentions by some Albanian politicians in the south of central Serbia represent clear provocation and undermining of stability in the region.
The Committee also rejected the resolution on war crimes that Serbia allegedly committed in Kosovo, recently adopted by Pristina’s institutions, terming it as “yet another in a series of provocative acts by Pristina that undermine the dialogue,” RTS reported.
