“Russia will prevent membership of Kosovo in all international organizations” (BETA, TV N1, TV Pink)
Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharachenko said during the meeting with Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic that Kosovo is integral part of Serbia and Moscow would continue supporting Serbia in preventing Kosovo to join not only Interpol, but all international institutions, Serbian media report.
The two officials assessed that the two countries have very good cooperation in the field of security, the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement. Stefanovic once again thanked Russia “for its principled respect” for the territorial integrity of Serbia and “a valuable support” in preventing Kosovo to join Interpol.
“Along with the Russian Federation we continue the struggle for Kosovo and Metohija, not only related to Interpol, but all other international institutions,” Stefanovic underlined. He noted Serbia did not cease its activities after the last General Assembly session when Kosovo failed to join the Interpol, and continued to work with other countries in this regard.
“We would approach every country and present our arguments (…)”, Stefanovic said, adding it would be harmful to involve political acts in a police organization such as Interpol.
