Randy Berry, special envoy for LGBTI rights visits Kosovo (Telegrafi)

Randy W. Berry, the U.S. State Department's first-ever Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex)Persons is visiting Kosovo and met today with the President of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli. Berry and Veseli during the meeting discussed the human rights of the LGBTI in Kosovo. "Berry stressed that human rights, as universal must be respected equally for all members of society, irrespective of their differences in ethnicity and identity," read a press release issued by Veseli’s Office.

United States have congratulated the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia for reaching agreements in Brussels on Tuesday. According to a statement of the US State Department, the agreements on energy, telecommunications, Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities, as well as on the freedom of movement will improve the lives of people in both countries.

The United States welcomed the important agreements reached between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels and lauded the dedication of both sides to this process.

"The agreements finalized today on energy, telecommunications, establishment of an Association/Community of Serbian Municipalities, as well as on the Freedom of Movement/Mitrovica Bridge, will improve the lives of people in both countries," reads a statement issued by the U.S. Department of State on Tuesday.

US to continue support for democratic processes in Kosovo (Koha)

Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli and members of the Assembly presidency met today a US Congress delegation led by Senator Vern Buchanan and other members of the Democracy Partnership commission. The meeting focused on the current partnership between the US Congress and Kosovo Assembly and the US support to building political and legislative capacities in Kosovo. Senator Buchanan said the US support with continue and stressed that Kosovo needs a greater on economic development as one of the key factors in strengthening democracy.

"Vucic to travel to U.S. with new evidence in Bytyqi case" (B92)

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will visit Washington with new evidence in the case of the murder of the Bytyqi brothers.

Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic also told Radio Belgrade that authorities have been intensively working on the case and that the FBI has participated in the investigation since the beginning.

Vukcevic said this case should be closed along with others by the end of his mandate.

US Criticises Balkans over Human Trafficking (Balkan Insight)

All Balkan countries except Macedonia do not meet minimum standards in combatting human trafficking and some fail to punish the perpetrators adequately, the US State Department said.

Most Balkan countries do not meet the “minimal required standards” in fighting human trafficking but are demonstrating substantial efforts to achieve them, said the annual report published by the US State Department on Monday.

The director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija made this statement when state broadcaster RTS asked about "American participation in negotiations in Brussels".

A round of the Kosovo dialogue ended late on Tuesday with "progress made, but no agreements reached."
