Vučić: Belgrade and Pristina to forget the weapons (media)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić said Tuesday that Belgrade and Pristina should forget the weapons and talk about everything, and hoped that no one would think of killing Serbs in Kosovo.

Asked by journalists to comment on the statement by the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić of Serbia's readiness to defend the Serbs in Kosovo with the weapons, Vučić answered the question: "Are you wondering whether someone will kill the Serbs."

Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli said today that the situation regarding Serbia’s train was an “artificial provocation” and urged the people of Kosovo to have more faith in their institutions. “The situation is serious but people should feel safe. They should not feel threatened. We will not allow Serbia’s walls and trains in Kosovo,” Veseli said after the meeting of the Kosovo Assembly presidency. He also said that the Mitrovica North wall will be taken down. “I am not sure whether on 1 or 17 February but it will most definitely be demolished,” Veseli said. “The wall is artificial.

Albanian FM: Serbia’s provocations do no service to regional cooperation (Telegrafi)

Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati reacted to the recent statements of Serbian officials regarding the Belgrade-Mitrovica train calling them “destabilizing provocations.” In a Facebook post, Bushati said the statements coming from Belgrade do not contribute to the climate of regional cooperation. “The beginning of 2017 was not a good one for South-East Europe. Destabilising provocations and theatrical fantasies of Serbia’s leadership are irritating and far from expectations from an EU candidate country,” Bushati wrote.
