The process of Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO, faced during all these weeks a propaganda and lobbying by Serbia’s politicians and institutions against the acceptance of Kosovo in UNESCO.

This was the reason to suspect on the possibility of some set up incident at some cultural or religious heritage site in Kosovo.

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, Edita Tahiri, confirmed that the Political Committee of the EU ambassadors today took a decision to support the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) for Kosovo. "The signing of the SAA is scheduled for 27 October,” Tahiri said. "It is important that the reforms that are required for a country in order to sign the SAA were already met. This is a great success for Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic integration process,” she added.  Kosovo has completed negotiations with the EU in July 2014.

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga issued a statement today which called Kosovo's political spectrum for a dialogue about the recent developments in the Kosovo Assembly. “After consultations with the heads of the institutions, with the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly, I call for dialogue the parliamentary political parties in an effort to overcome the current political situation. Violent acts during the last few days are unacceptable.

In a statement to the media, the Office of the Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa announced that due to the online attacks, the Facebook account of PM Mustafa will be deactivated pending increased security measures. During this period, any posting or communication on behalf of Mustafa will be considered as not representing the Prime Minister’s views and will be reported to the relevant authorities. Mustafa remains open to communication with the people through his public information office, the stattement said.

Kosovo Police spokesperson Baki Kelani rejected allegations made by the head of Vetevendosje parliamentary group Glauk Konjufca that the teargas used at the today’s session of the Assembly was secured through the police. “This is an attempt to discredit the Kosovo Police,” said Kelani.

In a joint statement, opposition parties – Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) – said that reports that the prosecution is conducting investigations at the Kosovo Assembly hall following another use of teargas are ridiculous. According to the opposition, these actions are aimed at intimidating opposition MPs and not at actually resolving the present “abnormal” situation.

Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri has rejected the claims that removal of the barricade over the River Iber in Mitrovica has failed. According to her, the barricade will be removed tomorrow, as planned.

The Assembly chairmanship gathered today to discuss the modalities of the Thursday’s session. The meeting was held without the presence of the heads of the parliamentary groups of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Vetevendosje movement and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA).

The Kosovo Assembly Presidency decided today to introduce a more detailed control for persons that will enter the Assembly building on Thursday. Assembly President Kadri Veseli and his staff, the heads of parliamentary groups, MPs, government ministers, staff and reporters will all be subject to the control. The detailed control is part of security measures to prevent any dangerous objects from entering the assembly premises.

Vetevendosje MP Albin Kurti said in an interview for News24 on Tuesday that he will not stop until “the agreement on the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro are annulled”. Kurti explained how he was detained by police and said that he was later released only due to protests by Vetevendosje supporters. “I was returning from Skopje to Pristina, and in the outskirts of the city a Kosovo Police task force with 15 officers stopped us and asked me to step out of the car.
