Bilall Sherifi, head of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA) parliamentary group, said parties need to reach consensus on the way forward regarding the border demarcation issue but stressed that the report of the government’s commission headed by former LDK MP, Shpejtim Bulliqi, needs to be an integral part of the agreement. He said NISMA in principle supports postponing today’s vote in the hope that this would provide a viable opportunity for the parties to reach consensus on the issue.

Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) MP, Haxhi Shala, said in an interview to RTK that his party will not support initiative for abrogation of the law on specialist chambers. Shala said the party MPs signed the initiative at its outset thinking it was part of the petition launched by KLA associations to amend the existing law. “We support amending the law so that it investigates all those who committed crimes in Kosovo but not abrogating it,” Shala said.

Bilall Sherifi from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said the party continues to oppose the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and has not changed the position despite entering a coalition government with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Officials from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) reacted to the news that the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) signed a pre-election coalition with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) by saying the move was foreseeable. LDK spokesperson Arban Abrashi said to Klan Kosova that PDK signed the coalition as a reaction to the “fear” from the LDK earlier reaching an agreement with the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) and Alternative.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has voted for the motion of no-confidence on the government of Kosovo.

With 78 votes for, 34 against and 3 abstentions, Kosovo Assembly has removed the mandate of the government of Kosovo with Isa Mustafa as Prime Minister. The motion of no-confidence was initiated by the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and supported by opposition parties. This voting will lead to early elections in Kosovo.

Valdete Bajrami, Kosovo Assembly MP from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), told the news portal that she is convinced that the current government will be brought down during tomorrow’s session at the Assembly of Kosovo.  According to Bajrami, the initiative of her party for the motion of no-confidence will not pass only if PM Mustafa resigns tonight. She stated convincingly that Isa Mustafa is Prime Minister in decline.

 The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci held an urgent meeting with the President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli. Gazeta Metro reports that Thaci left immediately after his speech at the meeting with civil society representatives on the draft regulation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to meet Veseli and discuss opposition parties’ submission of the motion of no-confidence on the government.

MP from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Haxhi Shala, said the no-confidence motion against the government would be submitted to the Assembly of Kosovo when the opposition leaders deem the moment to be right. “If demarcation is not presented to MPs this week, the motion could then be submitted,” Shala said adding that if however the border demarcation agreement goes to the Assembly this week, “I strongly believe it will not pass and perhaps there won’t be a need for a motion at all as the government would most likely fall.”

Daut Haradinaj’s threat with war if Ramush Haradinaj is extradited to Belgrade, has induced many reactions in Kosovo and wider. Another Kosovo Assembly MP from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Zafir Berisha, also considers that treatment of the former KLA general is unfair.

“Daut’s reaction was natural, because his brother is concerned. I do not consider his statement to be so tragic. However, it is natural that not everything will be in order as it is right now if Ramush is extradited to Serbia,” he said.

After the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), the Initiative for Kosovo, (NISMA) also confirmed that they would vote the law for the change of the mandate and increase of competencies of the Kosovo Security Force.
