Kosovo’s Prime Minister Isa Mustafa told a press conference in Pristina today that Kosovo will have its state telephone code by the end of this month. During a presentation of his government’s achievements in the economy, Mustafa highlighted the commitment to construct the Kosova e Re power plant and two projects for the Trepca mining complex. Mustafa said that an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on energy is expected this month. He also said that the boards of public enterprises would be completed by mid-September.

The government of Kosovo approved during today’s regular meeting the report of the government commission for demarcation of the borderline with Montenegro. In this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said that this border is in accordance with the one of 1974 and Ahtisaari’s package.

The inability to stop the degradation of cultural heritage and local government irresponsibility, are among the reasons for the resignation of Vesel Hoxhaj from the position of the chairman of the Council for Cultural Heritage of the Historic Centre of Prizren, Koha reports.  Hoxhaj accused the institutions that they have done nothing to prevent the degradation of cultural monuments. “The underlying reason of my resignation is the inability of the Council, which I directed until today to prevent further degradation of cultural heritage.

The Basic Court in Pristina approved the request of the Prosecution to extend the detention for two more months for the five terrorism suspects arrested a few weeks ago near Badovc Lake. "There is a suspicion that the defendants intended to seriously intimidate the population and destabilizing the situation in Kosovo,” reads the ruling of the Pristina Basic Court.

Koha Ditore’s publisher Flaka Surroi writes today that Kosovo scored an own goal with regards to the establishment of the special court and it should now bear the consequences. Surroi claims that the constitutional amendment paving way for the court was passed by the Kosovo Assembly because the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Hashim Thaci wanted so and in the run-up to the voting he managed to prove he is the only one who “can get a job done” in Kosovo.

Two protests were held today in Mitrovica and Pristina in support of Oliver Ivanovic and Dragan Delibasic, demanding their release on bail. The first protest was held in front of the Basic Court in Mitrovica North, while the second one was held in front of EULEX Headquarters in Pristina. Oliver Ivanovic’s brother who was one of the protesters said that the Oliver Ivanovic was politically imprisoned by EULEX. Media report that around 500 people participated in the protest in Mitrovica while only around 30 were present in front of EULEX in Pristina.

The KFOR Commander, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, today handed over the office to Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta. Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, during ceremony said that the people of Kosovo will forever appreciate KFOR’s support for Kosovo. “Our partnership is the way to success. And this partnership has helped Kosovo build the Kosovo Security Force with NATO standards.

The FOL Movement published a  study report which says that the government of Kosovo headed by Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, has only met one objective in six months, out of 160 planned. FOL also relased a report on non-transparent Ministries, which puts the Foreign Ministry as the most non-transparent. While according to FOL,  the most efficient Ministry is the Finance Ministry headed by Avdullah Hoti.

Cedomir Jovanovic, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party in Serbia, said in an interview for Croatian newspaper Vecernji List that if he were Prime Minister of Serbia he would recognize Kosovo’s independence. “The recognition [of Kosovo’s independence] should be seen as a tool to improve the position of the Serb community living there,” Jovanovic was quoted as saying.

The Presidency of the Assembly of Kosovo decided today that the constitutional amendments that enable the establishment of the special court to be put into a vote on Monday. At the time when the Presidency voted on the agenda for the Monday's session, opposition representatives abandoned the meeting.
