Victims of sexual violence should be treated with dignity (RTK)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, met over the weekend in separate meetings representatives of association for protection of victims of sexual violence during the conflict and members of the government’s commission for verification and recognition of status of victims of sexual violence during the conflict. In the meetings, Haradinaj expressed the readiness of his government in fulfilling all duties in order to move forward the process of verification and recognition of the status of victims.

Government allocates funds for association of women victims of sexual violence in conflict (Koha)

The government of Kosovo in today’s meeting allocated €200,000 to support association of women victims of sexual violence during the conflict. The government also approved 2017 budget review which is expected to be sent to the Assembly for further endorsement.

 

NGOs urge government to allocate budget for sexual violence victims in conflict (Koha)

A group of NGOs, authorized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare to receive applications for recognition of status to the victims of sexual violence during the conflict, requested the government of Kosovo to allocate the budget for the process of verification and recognition. The NGOs said that despite all actions taken with regards to setting up the committee that would look into the applications, there is still no budget allocated for the purpose.
