German Ambassador in Pristina Christian Heldt commented on recent controversy related to changing the history that occurred after the Kosovo Ministry of Culture restoration of Saint Nikola Church in Novo Brdo, for which Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts said it is a part of the Orthodox heritage, represented as Catholic cathedral, KoSSev portal reported. The German Government paid for the works on the preservation of the site, while the German Ambassador said the project only preserved what was on the site and did not comment on how the Kosovo Ministry of Cul

Kosovo’s Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, said in a meeting today with the German Ambassador, Christian Heldt, that Europe cannot be complete without the Western Balkans. “Our Euro-Atlantic journey is unstoppable and we are committed to achieve our citizens’ expectations,” Hoxha said.

Ambassador Heldt on his part stressed the important of successful implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and offered Germany’s support in this process.

   

The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Christian Heldt, said that Kosovo has to establish the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, that would enable integration of the Serb community. On the other hand, he added, Serbia should implement the agreements reached with Kosovo during the dialogue mediated by the EU.

Creation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities is part of the agreement for the improvement of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, signed in April 2013.
