Vetevendosje: We did not attack the Prime Minister, but… (Indeksonline)

It appears that today’s planning to attack the escort of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, was not organized by the Vetevendosje movement. NISMA: Protests to be peaceful if government doesn’t provoke (Indeksonline)

Bilall Sherifi, senior member of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said today that his party will support the protests announced by two other opposition parties, the Vetevendosje Movement and Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK).  “We will participate in the protests against the bad governance and the damaging agreements reached with Serbia. We will contribute in organizing these protests,” Sherifi said, adding that the protests would be peaceful if the government doesn’t provoke with any actions.

Kosovo Insurance Bureau suspends car insurance agreement with Serbia (Indeksonline)

President of the Kosovo’s Insurance Bureau, Rrahim Pacolli, has decided to suspend indefinitely the agreement of 23 June on recognition of vehicle insurances between Pristina and Belgrade. The Kosovo Insurance Bureau said it took the decision following “the bureaucratic and unnecessary measures imposed by the Serbian side in forcing the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to take off their RKS license plates and replace them with provisional plates and pay further taxes.”

 

Haradinaj: Pristina – Belgrade agreement violates Kosovo’s Constitution (Indeksonline)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, during a press conference today said that the agreement reached last night with Serbia violates Kosovo’s Constitution and endangers its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said that these agreements are negative development for Kosovo.

US Congress supports Kosovo’s bid to join UNESCO (Indeksonline)

The United States Committee on Foreign Affairs through social media expressed its support for Kosovo’s bid to join UNESCO, Indeksonline reports. The Committee, headed by Congressman Engel Eliot, in a Twitter post wrote that the world should support the membership of Kosovo in UNESCO, accompanied by a link to the Radio Free Europe article, which listed the arguments used by the Deputy Prime Minister Hashim Thaci on why Kosovo should join this international organization.

Vetevendosje action against Association/Community (Indeksonline)

EULEX chief concerned with Ivanovic’s health (Indeksonline)

Head of EULEX Gabriele Meucci has expressed concern over the health of the leader of the Serb Civic Initiative (CI) Oliver Ivanovic currently on trial on war crimes charges. In a letter to Kosovo Serb leaders, Meucci said that EULEX shares the concerns over Ivanovic’s health during his hunger strike but added that EULEX is acting by the law and gave assurances that the decisions will be taken in an independent manner.
