Kosovo's leaders have condemned "any involvement" of the territory's citizens in a weekend gunbattle in neighboring Macedonia that left eight police officers and 14 suspected gunmen dead.

Kosovo's President Atifete Jahjaga and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa issued the condemnation in a joint statement on May 11, as Macedonia was observing a second day of national mourning after the shoot-out in the town of Kumanovo.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said in an interview for Radio Free Europe that agreement between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) will be implemented in entirety and that he believed it will a stable coalition.

Deputy leader of the Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ahmet Isufi, said in an interview that the agreement with Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje will not be reviewed and that the coalition is stable. Isufi said it is unfortunate that the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has not been more engaged and firm in her positions. “At the same time, I believe it is final time for the president to ask for explanations of the item 127 which is ambiguous”, he said.

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has informed all leaders of parliamentary parties about the current situation and the danger not only from an institutional and political crisis but above all, a budgetary and financial one.

In an interview for Radio Free Europe, Vetevendosje MP Visar Ymeri confirmed they have reached an agreement with the coalition bloc between the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and this is expected to be signed during the week. He said that the principles on which Vetevendosje insisted on have been also endorsed by the coalition bloc and they are now expected to be formalized in an agreement.
