Thaci for Handelsblatt: Kosovo is fighting radical elements (Kosovapress)

The well-known German daily which covers politics, economy and finance, “Handelsblatt” reported that Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, is fighting in many fronts, against radical elements, emigrant crisis and strengthening of the statehood. In an interview for this daily, Thaci said that war against terrorism and emigrant crisis can be overcome only if there is a more intensive cooperation among the Balkans states and the European Union.

PM Mustafa for an official visit in Germany (Kosovapress)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, started today an official visit in Lander Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria in Germany.
During these two important visits for Kosovo, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, accompanied by ministers Hykmete Bajrami Blerand Stavileci and Arban Abrashi, will be hosted by two Lander prime ministers, Winfried Kretschmann and Horst Seehofer.

Kosovo steps up security amid terrorist attack fears (Kosovapress)

Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa called a meeting of the National Security Council today to discuss the security situation in Kosovo amid terrorist threat other countries are also facing. Mustafa asked the Kosovo security institutions to undertake necessary steps in being ready to face any possible situation related to terrorist threats. “Republic of Kosovo is an active part of the global alliance against terrorism and violent extremism and has its responsibilities in this common fight,” said Mustafa at the meeting.

AAK open to talks with Government after it withdraws disputed agreements (Kosovapress)

Senior official from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Muharrem Nitaj said that the party is ready to meet with government representatives as soon as they withdraw the agreement on establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and on the border demarcation with Montenegro. “We are open to meet with people and representatives of the government and all the people who have the will to unblock this situation as a result of these two agreements,” said Nitaj. He ruled out that the aim of the AAK is to bring down the government.

Grants for 14 organizations from Kosovo Women's Fund (Kosovapress)

Kosovo Women Network (KWN), together with the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the European Union Office in Kosovo, during a press conference today awarded grants for 14 organizations that are part of the KWN. Kosovo Women's Fund (KWF), founded in 2012, provides small grants to women's organizations that do not have access to other sources of financing and seeking to work for women's rights, particularly among the rural and/or marginalized groups.

Police, protesters clash outside government building (all media)

Around 150 people gathered today outside the Kosovo government building to protest against the arrest of the opposition MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi who was arrested for allegedly setting off tear gas in the Kosovo Assembly. Reports say protesters threw teargas, stones and paint at police, while the situation remained tense. Protesters also broke several windows of the government building. The police tried to disperse protesters with teargas to prevent the crowds from approaching the government building.

Kosovo Police arrests three terrorism suspects (KosovaPress)

Kosovo Police yesterday arrested three individuals suspected of the criminal offense "Organizing and participating in terrorist groups". The suspects were arrested in Hani i Elezit after they were stopped and returned from Turkey by the Turkish police while trying to travel to Syria. Also, two locations were searched and there were found enough evidence to assist the prosecution with this case.

Excavations in Raska should not take place without the Kosovo side’s presence (Kosovapress)

The Serbian authorities’ decision to resume excavations works in the location of Raska in Serbia in search of human remains of Albanians missing since the 1998-99 conflict without the notification of the Kosovo authorities has led to the reaction of the Kosovo Government’s Commission for Missing Persons which called the action a provocation.

Thaci: Serbia used war-mongering language at UNESCO (Kosovapress)

In an interview for EurActiv, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci accused Serbia of leading a war-mongering and anti-European campaign against Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO. He said the whole world was appalled at the behaviour of Serbia. “It was against the spirit of the dialogue and cooperation that we are promoting in Brussels through the dialogue process; it was against the spirit of normalisation of relations and building peace and stability,” said Thaci.
