Judiciary in northern Kosovo remains a challenge for KJC (Lajmi)

Kosovo’s Justice Minister, Dhurata Hoxha, met on Tuesday the president of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), Nehat Idrizi. Hoxha and Idrizi stated that the integration of the judicial system in northern Kosovo will happen soon, despite the challenges that may arise during the process. Hoxha stated the ministry will fully support the KJC to increase the efficiency of the judiciary throughout Kosovo. “We as ministry will work closely with the KJC and will help in making the necessary reforms to increase the efficiency of the judiciary.

Publicist Arben Idrizi argues in an opinion piece that if ignored the demolition of the surrounding wall of the future Catholic cemetery in the village of Llapushnik, could lead to tragic incidents. Idrizi criticizes the Muslim residents of Llapushnik for not allowing their Catholic neighbors to build a cemetery. He adds, “the Muslim community, which is an absolute majority, is being intolerant and has almost openly expressed its readiness to carry out this intolerance and this is what makes the whole situation so dangerous”.
