EULEX need the "big fish" among Serbs (Danas)

Oliver Ivanovic, president of the Citizens' Initiative SPD to Danas from prison in Mitrovica Mitrovica, Belgrade - My detention is punitive measure, not a security measure. The only goal is to intimidate the remaining Serbs, especially those who are already in some kind of public and secret indictments. Witnesses were heard, neither I nor my lawyers did not know who they are, which means that we were not able to influence them. Ukraine and the Middle East, being the two big geopolitical hotspots, are crucially influencing stability in Balkans and overall position of Serbia. Our energy safety, export, investment, existence of the maneuvering space in foreign policy will depend on development of the crisis in Ukraine. Positioning of Turkey, which is important for Balkans, the issue of radicalization of Balkan Muhammadans and the issue which scares the most, possibility of launching huge migration waves toward the Europe, depend on the development of situation in the Middle East.

Implementation of the Brussels Agreement is one of the three areas for which Belgrade, as announced, will receive a positive assessment in the annual report of the European Commission, which should appear in the first half of October.  Due to mutual accusations of official Belgrade and Pristina, the fact that the elections on both sides swallowed nearly a year and a post-election political crisis in Kosovo and Metohija, the EC has lowered the criteria for the full implementation of the Brussels Agreement ( the constitutionality is assessed before the Constitutional Court of Serbia).

The establishment of a special court for KLA crimes depends on the pace of the formation of new Kosovo government, which should sign an agreement on the establishment probably with the Netherlands, where will be located a part of the court. Decision on the establishment of the Court brought previous composition of the Kosovo Assembly in late April, and it is expected that the Court will start working in 2015. However, the organization, jurisdiction and the way of functioning are still in the sphere of assumptions.

Diplomacy with “tied hands” (Danas)

The statement of the prosecutor of the EU Special Investigation Team, Clint Williamson, on the findings of an investigation into the trafficking in human organs in Kosovo, although with the status “temporary announced until a special court for the crimes of the KLA will be established”, provides space for diplomatic and political action of official Belgrade in the fight for Kosovo, believe our diplomatic sources.  Opposition parties DSS (Democratic Party of Serbia) and DS (Democratic Party) share the same opinion, as well as a former member of the Assembly of Kosovo, Rada Trajkovic.

Pristina crisis and "the main guy"(Danas)

Why Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic during a lengthy speech on the occasion of the first 100 days of the government, (for which, as "the best location" was selected successful farm of the family Mužlai in Backo Gradište) did not mention the government's activities in Kosovo and Metohija? Representatives of the ruling coalition believe that the reason for that is political crisis in Pristina, which occurred after the early parliamentary elections, because it hampers the implementation of the Brussels Agreement.
