Haxhiu: Ignoring demands of opposition and citizens will produce new tensions (Koha)

Vetevendosje MP, Albulena Haxhiu, reacted to the findings of the Government’s Commission for measuring the territory of Kosovo saying that Vetevendosje had known all along what the commission’s conclusions would be. Thaci: Assembly to form Kosovo army without delay (RTK)

In a statement, the commission confirmed that members of the opposition and two mayors have not attended its meetings and called on them to join the discussion and provide their contribution. “There are no disagreements as suggested by certain media. Kosovo’s Deputy Minister of Local Government and Administration, Bajram Gecaj, said that the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro cannot be ratified without the votes from Serbian List MPs. “We also have some MPs from the ruling coalition that have opposed this agreement but the Government of Kosovo has initiated the setting up of a professional commission for resolving demarcation,” said Gecaj.

Government approves establishment of commission for measuring Kosovo territory (Lajmi)

The Government of Kosovo approved today the proposal for establishment of a commission of experts that will carry out the measuring of Kosovo territory. Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci said the experts will measure the territory of Kosovo prior to 25 August 2015 up to the signing of the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro. Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), who is also professor of geography and one of the main opponents of the agreement on demarcation of the border with Montenegro, Shpejtim Bulliqi, objected the proposal of the Prime Minister of Kosovo on establishment of a new commission which would asses’ delineation of the border. He said that Mustafa’s idea is not the right one at all. According to him the territory cannot be measured without prior decision on the start points of the measurement.
