On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, representatives of international missions in Kosovo held a public tribune today on "improving the agenda for women, peace and security in Kosovo,'' reports KIM radio.

"Women are the most important part of society in Kosovo, as well as in the Western Balkans. Their voices must be heard, their role must be respected," said UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin at the conference.

The chairman of the Assembly's Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, told RTS on Saturday that the way Albanians want to define the statute of the Community/Association of Serb municipalities (ZSO) is contrary to the Brussels agreement, adding that the question is what will be written in the Statute. If it is unacceptable to Belgrade, there is nothing of that, says Drecun.

It's been four years since the signing of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina on the normalization of relations. As the biggest success was seen the agreement on formation of the Community/Association of Serb municipalities (ZSO), that still does not exist.

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and the EU Special Representative Nataliya Apostolova said that visa liberalisation is in the hands of Kosovo politicians and called on them to fulfill the last two remaining conditions – ratification of border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and fight corruption. “European agenda needs to be implemented by the government of Kosovo. 93 out of 95 criteria have been met.

The European Union High Representative in Pristina, Natalia Apostolova, stressed the importance of the nomination of the Minister for European Integration.

Nataliya Apostolova, head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, said today that no agreement has been reached yet on the Mitrovica wall. Apostolova wrote on her Twitter account: “would be happy to have agreement on Mitrovica wall, but this is still not the case. Discussions continue & and I hope solution will be found soon”.

The European Union Special Representative to Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, today during the meeting of the Committee on European Integration said that the EU has never built walls and will never do it. She said that the EU builds bridges and since it is not their project, the EU cannot control it. “The EU builds bridges, not walls. We are putting pressure to respect citizens' rights and transparency in dialogue. You have to make a solution. One calls it a wall, another calls it differently.

North Mitrovica Mayor Goran Rakić said today that the main bridge in Mitrovica will not be open until the end of this year.

"The theme of Apostolova's visit today was not revitalization and opening of the bridge, and in her address to the public, the date is mentioned, about the official opening of the bridge, for which I can assure you that will not be until the end of this year," said Rakić in a statement.
