Around four thousand displaced persons in Mitrovica and Zvecan (Kontakt Plus radio)

According to data of the North Mitrovica Center for Social Welfare around four thousand displaced persons, that is 150 families, live in North Mitrovica and Zvecan/Zveçan municipalities.

“We are trying as much as we can to help through cooperation with the municipal administration, Red Cross and the line ministry,” said Dusica Gusnic Djinovic from the Center, and added that Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija has recently provided an aid shipment for displaced persons.

Gusnic said that Center will do its best to provide more aid in the next year.

Energy distribution company formed in Zubin Potok (KoSSev)

A decision has been brought yesterday at the extraordinary local assembly session of the Zubin Potok/Zubin Potok Municipality to form a company for distribution of energy in northern Kosovo.

The company is named Association for Energy Services “Elektrodistribucija Sever’ DOO Zubin Potok, and director will be a longtime employee of ‘Elektrokosmet’ company form Kosovska Mitrovica, Boban Novakovic.

North Mitrovica: Support to Vucic (KoSSev)

Dozens of citizens have gathered yesterday in vicinity of the main bridge in North Mitrovica  in protest to the statements made by the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama during his visit to Belgrade. The rally was attended by mayors of North Mitrovica, Zvečan/Zveçan, Leposavić/Leposaviq and the head of Kosovska Mitrovica District.

No incidents were reported, whereas vehicles of EULEX, KFOR and UN were noted in vicinity of the venue.

Police operation in north Kosovo, two persons arrested (Tanjug,B92)

 The Kosovo police arrested early on Wednesday two persons in north Kosovo as part of the police operation tasked with prevention of drug trafficking and other crimes.

Zeljko Bojic, regional head of the Kosovo police, told Tanjug that two persons were arrested in the area of the Leposavic municipality following a search at two locations at 05:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Bojic said that two vehicles, one radio frequency connector and a number of documents were confiscated in the villages of Lesak and Isevo in northern Kosovo.

Citizens gather on both sides of Ibër/Ibar river after suspension of football game (Radio Kontakt Plus)

A few hundred Albanians gathered last night in the southern part of Mitrovica, in support to the Albanian football team, after the football match between Serbia and Albania ended. Albanians chanted "Albania, Albania" and used some pyrotechnic products. At the same time, on the other side of the bridge, in North Mitrovica, Serbs gathered to watch what was happening. The head of Kosovo Police Operations, Zeljko Bojic, said in a statement to Radio Kontakt Plus that the tensions lasted only briefly, and there were no incidents.

 

 

 

 

Kosovo north still gets no money from EU, north Kosovo fund (Tanjug)

President of the Mitrovica North Municipal Assembly Ksenija Bozovic said Thursday that no municipality in northern Kosovo had yet received any money from the EU funds or from the ”fund for the north of Kosovo,“ which was being filled with duties collected at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings.

Bozovic told Tanjug that that the Assembly did not have any information about the money, except that they were aware that a commission was beign set up that should be deciding on its allocation.

Serb suspected of a murder released after questioning (Kontakt Plus radio)

Radomir Kasalovic, who was arrested by the EULEX police in the north, was released on bail after the hearing, said his lawyer Ljubomir Pantovic. Pantovic in a statement to Kontakt Plus radio said that Kasalovic made ​​a statement in the southern part of Mitrovica, after which he was released on bail.
