The Mayor of North Mitrovica and chairperson of the municipal council of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in North Mitrovica, Goran Rakić, stated today that almost all local councilors of the Citizens' Initiative SDP of Oliver Ivanović in North Mitrovica and Zvečan decided to join the ranks of the SNS.

An unexploded hand grenade was found in the house yard of a candidate for the MP in the Serbian Parliament, Slaviša Ristić, in the village Jagnjenica in Zubin Potok Municipality.

The head of Kosovo Police Regional Operations Unit, Željko Bojić, said to Tanjug that the Police Station in Zubin Potok was informed about the case and that police units were sent to inspect the site.

Slavisa Ristic, a candidate for a seat in the Serbian parliament and former Mayor of Zubim Potok Municipality, said late on Sunday that unknown persons had fired shots from automatic weapons at his house in the village of Jagnjenica near Zubin Potok in northern Kosovo, but luckily, no one had been injured.

Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, stated that majority of Serbs already possess ID of Kosovo, as result of the Brussels dialogue.
She said that the reach of the agreement on free movement in 2011 made “majority of Serbs to take the IDs of Kosovo state.”

Serbs from northern Kosovo blocked the Jarinje crossing for an hour today, making it clear that they will not give up on their Serbian ID cards. Despite announcements that, as of Monday, Kosovo authorities will no longer consider valid the Serbian IDs issued to Kosovo residents, this is yet not the case.

However, Serbs from northern Kosovo have gathered to express their displeasure with announced measures, and blocked the Jarinje crossing, for one hour.

A group of people from Rudare village, close to Zvecan, is heading by vehicle to Jarinje, at the border crossing between Kosovo and Serbia, to protest against the announced decision of the government of Kosovo that from 18 April, individuals who possess illegal ID documents, issued by the illegal structures of Serbia in Kosovo, will not be allowed to enter Kosovo.

Mayors of the northern municipalities as well as mayors of the so-called municipalities that function as part of Serbia, also joined these protesters.

The mayors of four municipalities in northern Kosovo on Saturday described the recent announcement of Pristina, on the ban of use of Serbian ID cards at the administrative crossings, as a threat of violence. They say that the Serbs will block the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings if the decision is implemented.

The mayors in Kosovo announced the blockage of Jarinje and Brnjak crossings if the authorities in Pristina maintain the decision not to allow movement across the crossings with Serbian IDs.

Coalition Dveri-Democratic Party of Serbia communicated yesterday that leader of this coalition Bosko Obradovic, was not allowed to visit Kosovo. Other representatives of this coalitions, including Sanda Rašković Ivić, have entered Kosovo, however the gathering in Zvečan/Zveçan, planned for yesterday, did not take place because the owner of the premise where election rally was meant to happen, has received threatening messages.

The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said yesterday that after 16 years a settlement for returnees will be built in northern Kosovo, between North Mitrovica and Zvečan/Zveqan, with three hundred modern and top-equipped houses for around 1200-1500 persons.
