Kosovo problem should be solved quickly - German ambassador (B92)

Before to joining the EU, Serbia must solve the problem with Kosovo, and a quick solution would be good for everyone.

That is what the ambassador of Germany to Serbia, Axel Dittmann, told Filip Cukanovic and b92.net on Monday in Belgrade.

Dittmann also spoke about the construction of the new German embassy in Belgrade, Germany's defeat in the first game they played at the World Cup in Russia - and revealed when Serbia might be close to joining the EU...

Vulin, Ljajic on delineation, division of Kosovo (Tanjug, Blic, B92)

Serbian Defense Minister, Aleksandar Vulin said he thinks that delineation with Kosovo and Metohija is the best solution, adding that this is his personal stance, Tanjug news agency reported.

Vulin is also convinced such solution would prevent creation of “Great Albania” which he as a minister and politician sees as a greatest danger for the region.

“The “Great Albania” has to be stopped in Kosovo. Its spreading must be stopped there, also the process of destabilization of the region must stop there. Otherwise is not possible,” Vulin told Tanjug.

Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Chair Milovan Drecun said Kosovo institutions still do not prosecute crimes against Serbs, Tanjug news agency reported.

Drecun added they protected neither Serb population nor their properties. He made these remarks commenting on a statement of EULEX head Alexandra Papadopoulos, who said, “that after 10 years the biggest success of the Mission is its departure from Kosovo,” and that Kosovo on its own can implement the laws and justice.

“SNS came to power through Jarinje, would leave after handing over Kosovo” (BETA)

Leader of Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Milos Jovanovic said that “Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to the power through Jarinje, and would leave after they hand over Kosovo,” BETA news agency reported.

Jovanovic added that SNS is heading towards “a high treason” and surrender of Kosovo, while Caslav Koprivica, member of the DSS Political Board said “the intention of the Serbian authorities and the West” is to put an end to the Kosovo issue.

About 60 foreign services are active in Serbia, says expert (Tanjug, B92)

Serbia is targeted by intelligence services of some 60 countries, which plan subversive acts, fake news, and disturbance of the public.

This is according to professor Milan Mijalkovski, former dean at the Faculty of Security, who told the daily Politika that "everything that is happening in Serbia can also be observed through some internal reason, but should be brought into context of foreign factors' interests."

Slovak Defense Minister Gajdos reiterates firm stance on Kosovo (Serbian Government, B92)

First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic on Friday spoke with Slovak Defense Minister Peter Gajdos.

According to the Serbian government, Dacic and Gajdos "assessed that bilateral relations of the two countries are traditionally good and friendly."

The officials "expressed mutual satisfaction with the intense and continuous political dialogue at all levels, and expressed interest in further deepening all aspects of bilateral, especially military cooperation."

CEAS: Current format of dialogue in stalemate, division of Kosovo is solution (Tanjug, Radio kontakt plus)

The current format of dialogue on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, under EU auspices is facing a complete stalemate, Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) assessed and proposed as a possible solution the talks on correction of administrative line, that would go along the current boundaries of the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

CEAS in its study assessed that stalemate in a dialogue causes a series of political and security challenges for Serbia and Kosovo, but also for the EU and NATO.

Gorani Civic Initiative (GIG): To give Gora status of district (Tanjug, Vecernje Novosti)

Gorani Civic Initiative (GIG) proposed to the Serbian Government negotiations team and EU High Representative Federica Mogherini to provide status of the district to the Gora area, as it is the case with the Brcko District in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbian media reported.

This area is mainly populated by Gorani community, and the status of a district would mean ensuring stability and peace.

EULEX chief says no magical solution to problems (BETA, TV N1)

The EULEX mission did not come to Kosovo to magically solve every problem, mission chief Alexandra Papadopulou told the Beta news agency on Wednesday.

“The EULEX mission was not deployed here to solve all of Kosovo’s problems in rule of law with a magic wand in just a couple of years. We should have made that clearer from the start, we should have managed local expectations better,” she said.

Papadopuolou said the role of the mission was to implement a multi-ethnic, transparent and independent rule of law system free from political interference.
