Indemnity to be paid to teachers from Kosovo (Vecernje Novosti)

Serbian Minister for Education Srdjan Verbić and representatives of four representative unions have negotiated about lay-offs in the education sector. Around 700 teachers who used to work in Kosovo will most probably be offered indemnity payments. These teachers are not working at all for years and their salaries are around RSD 8.000, while state is paying for their social and health insurance.

German MP: No difference between Kosovo and Crimea (Vesti)

German parliament MP Alexander Neu stated that he doesn’t see any difference between the issue of self-declared Kosovo and Crimea. “In both cases the West has downgraded the UN Charter articles on territorial integrity, what led to creation of precedents”. Simić: Special court to be established as soon as possible (RTK2)

The head of the Serbian List caucus in the Kosovo parliament Slavko Simić said to RTK2 that he expected more MPs to support constitutional amendments that paved the way for creation of the special court for Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) crimes. Simić said that some MPs might have been exposed to certain pressure to support the amendments.

According to the writer of this opinion piece, Kushtrim Gashi, if the current governing coalition does not manage to implement the agreement between the two major parties for Hashim Thaci to become the president of Kosovo, then this coalition would conclude by the end of 2016, and early elections would proceed. Kosovo would be saved from early elections only if some of the deputies of the Democratic League of Kosovo have already stated that they would not vote Thaci for the president, change their minds.
