Autopsy, identification of exhumed remains in progress (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - The process of autopsy and identification of the remains exhumed from a gravesite at the Rudnica quarry, southern Serbia, is underway, and a second location at the quarry, also believed to hold human remains, will be searched in the next several weeks, the Serbian government's Commission on Missing Persons stated on Tuesday. The largest part of the site was searched in detail as forensic archaeologists unearthed more than 43 bodies and a large number of partial remains.

Bajrami: We are forming the government or going into elections (Epoka e Re)

The Deputy Head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Arsim Bajrami, said the opposition’s agreement on forming the government is unconstitutional and a disappointing act by the opposition, which lost the parliamentary elections. In Kosovo, the government is always formed by the party that won the elections in the first and second round. Points 1 and 4 of article 95 of the Constitution give the mandate for the formation of the government to the party or the pre-election coalition that won the elections, said Bajrami.

US supports any democratic government (Zeri)

The United States will cooperate with any government that comes out of free, fair and transparent elections, said the US Embassy in Pristina regarding the decision of opposition leaders to come together in a coalition and prevent the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) from forming a government. According to US Embassy officials, internal political strategies and discussions on possible coalitions are issues that should be decided by Kosovo leaders. They also noted that the US expects the new government to be formed in accordance with the Kosovo constitution and laws.

Opposition reaches agreement: Haradinaj Prime Minister (RTK)

In the premises of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Agim Veliu (LDK), Ardian Gjini (AAK)  and Bilall Sherifi (Initiative for Kosovo) announced that those parties and movement Self-Determination have reached an agreement that leader of the AAK Ramush Haradinaj to be the prime minister of Kosovo, whereas speaker of the Kosovo Assembly will come from the ranks of LDK, along with the post of the President in line with the Constitution, while Initiative for Kosovo will get a post of the deputy prime minister.

Simic: Visit to Berlin strengthens Vucic (Dnevnik)

Nikolić: I have no intention to trade with Kosovo (Press)

President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić said last night to RTS that election results for Kosovo parliament are expected ones and reiterated that he has no intention to trade with Kosovo. Nikolić said that results are expected ones with regards to Albanian parties, whereas he is not satisfied when it comes to Serbs since they will have only 10 or 9 seats instead of 20, what shows that there is a sort of lack of interest for participation for addressing the problems.

Germany takes over the care over the Western Balkan region (Danas)

Berlin, Belgrade - German Chancellor Angela Merkel announcement that by the end of August she will invite all the countries of the Western Balkans to a conference about their path to the EU, can be interpreted as the willingness of the Germans to take care of the region, partly as a consequence of the Ukrainian crisis, said to Danas Predrag Simic, President of the Forum for International Relations of the European Movement in Serbia. Merkel said last weekend that at such a conference "clearly will be stated" that Berlin wants to support the Western Balkans and to "look to the future together."
