Trials for 'liberators' stir anti-EU anger in proud Kosovo (Reuters)

But a new court in The Hague will try ethnic Albanians, not Serbs, for crimes committed during and after that conflict, a prospect that angers Kosovars who hail the soldiers of the Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army as freedom fighters.

Kosovo postpones contested border vote after lawmakers stay away (Reuters)

Kosovo's government dropped plans for a parliamentary vote on a bitterly contested law on establishing its definitive border with Montenegro on Thursday after coalition allies stayed away from the session.

The row has fueled months of violent clashes in the young country, including the firing of rocket-propelled grenades at parliament.

High in the Cursed Mountains that span Kosovo and Montenegro, lumberjack Rame Elezaj and his family have earned a living from their trees for decades.

But if Kosovo's parliament approves a border deal with Montenegro on Thursday, all 4.5 hectares of Elezaj's land will designated to be in another country, while his house will remain in Kosovo.

"We have always used this land and Montenegro never had any issues, and now our government wants to give it away for free," the 61-year-old told Reuters.

Hand grenade thrown at Kosovo state TV chief's home (Reuters)

A hand grenade was thrown at the home of the head of Kosovo's state broadcaster RTK, police said on Monday, the second incident in a week to target the TV channel or its executives.

Police said in a statement that no injuries were reported and no perpetrator found following the incident in a suburb of the capital Pristina at around 10 p.m. (2000 GMT) on Sunday.
