Serbian illegal operator threatens population in the north (Koha online)
Illegal energy operator in northern Kosovo Elektrokosmet which supplies Serbs in this part with electricity, has started today to distribute notices that if they do not pay the energy bills, the will be disconnected from the network.
Sources of Koha.net from the north informed that these warnings have been distributed to the population in Mitrovica, Zvecan/Zvecani, Leposavic and Zubin Potok. "Pay electrical bills and show that you respect institutions of the Republic of Serbia," is written on these warnings.
Employees of this enterprise tried last year to register their company at Kosovos Agency for economic registrations by the name Elektro-sever however they did not receive any response, which means that Elektrokosmet is an illegal enterprise, while the issue of energy will be discussed later in Brussels. Elektrokosmet tried in the past to collect these funds, however the number of the people who responded to their call was not even symbolic. Serbia started to supply with energy the northern part of Kosovo after the incident of 2011, when police officer Enver Zymberi was killed and the barricades were set at that side.
The government of Kosovo has decided to erase the debts of the population before dating earlier than 31 December 2008.
