Opposition: Kosovo diplomacy has failed miserably (RTK)
Leaders of Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said in a press conference today that the diplomacy of Kosovo has failed miserably in securing votes for membership in the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization (UNESCO) and is instead blaming Serbia’s campaign for this. “The no-vote from ally countries that have recognised us is the biggest failure of this government and diplomacy,” said NISMA’s Fatmir Limaj who added that in light of Kosovo’s UNESCO membership refusal, dialogue with Serbia should be stopped and conditioned with Serbia’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Similarly, Vetevendosje leader Visar Ymeri said unconditioned dialogue with Serbia is being reflected in the international arena whereas AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj also called for an end to the dialogue with Serbia. Ymeri also said the opposition bloc would soon organize protests, "which will last until the withdrawal of signatures from the agreements on the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and the border demarcation with Montenegro".
