Thaci’s election for President date (Indeksonline)

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaci's presidential election will take place on the anniversary of the first day of the Kosovo Liberation Army Epopee, on 5 March, said a source close to Thaci’s cabinet.

Indeksonline learned that Thaci, being the political leader of KLA, is set on this date due to the symbolism of the war for independence. “It's a done deal, but they don't want to make it public yet. 5 March is the anniversary of the beginning of the KLA Epopee, and the date when Hashim Thaci will be elected president. This is the information that was given to the head of our parliamentary group,” said an MP for Indeksonline.

The cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister Thaci neither confirmed nor denied that 5 March is the date the presidential election will take place.

The 7 March is the date by when the new president has to have been elected and the session will be set prior to this date. The partners of the coalition will decide on the date,” said Ardian Arifaj, Thaci’s political adviser.
