Collaku: No reason for EU to delay visa liberalization process (Indeksonline)

Kosovo European Integration Minister, Bekim Collaku, said today that the European Commission was very clear when they said the report on Kosovo published in December 2015 will be the last one. “We don’t expect any other reports but we are waiting for the European Commission to acknowledge the progress in fulfilling the visa liberalization requirements,” Collaku said. According to him, Kosovo is now ready to receive positive news on visa liberalization. “This is a decision of the European Union institutions and the member states. I still think that Kosovo citizens will be able to travel without visas this year. The EU should end the isolation of Kosovo as soon as possible,” Collaku said, adding that Kosovo has fulfilled all requirements and there is no reason to slow down the process.

He also spoke about the opposition's behavior in recent months in the Assembly, saying “these violent acts are against the European spirit and against any positive developments in Kosovo.” According to him, the violence inside and outside institutions must stop immediately, because “such actions are seriously jeopardizing not only the stability and the work of the democratic institutions, but also the process of integration into the European Union and NATO.”
