KIPRED: Kosovo institutions failed to prevent radical Islam (Koha)
The Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED) today presented the report “What happened with Kosovo Albanians: the role of religion in ethnic identity". According to this report, Kosovo's institutions and political parties have failed to prevent Islamic radicalism, although they had a legal obligation to do so. KIPRED chief, Lulzim Peci, said that this research aims to analyze the impact of Islam and Christianity in Kosovo Albanians. Peci said that the law on religious communities should be adopted as soon as possible, and that government institutions and political leaders need to present a common public discourse which would promote secular identity and religious coexistence among Kosovo Albanians.
